Netanyahu says 9/11 terror attacks good for Israel
Our friends, the Israelis.
"We are benefiting from one thing, and that is the attack on the Twin Towers and Pentagon, and the American struggle in Iraq," Ma'ariv quoted the former prime minister as saying. He reportedly added that these events "swung American public opinion in our favor."
Report: Netanyahu says 9/11 terror attacks good for Israel
By Haaretz Service and Reuters
The Israeli newspaper Ma'ariv on Wednesday reported that Likud leader Benjamin Netanyahu told an audience at Bar Ilan university that the September 11, 2001 terror attacks had been beneficial for Israel.

Just another Saturday night shot and a beer for Hillary

This is a great pic, Hillary doing her normal Saturday night thing... hanging out in a working class bar, throwing down a shot of whiskey (whoops, it was Canadian!) and a beer. She looks completely natural, like the lower middle class, blue collar, dog loving, cop respecting, "real person" that she is. There's no better way to ready one's self for an early morning duck hunting adventure!

Global Warming Researchers Reverse Stance on Storm Intensity
As it turns out, the scientist who first offered the theory that hurricane intensity would increase substantially due to "global warming" ... er ... "climate change" has reversed his stance and, based upon his newest models, suggest hurricane activity may actually slightly *decrease* over the next 200 years. He also said that in some areas activity will increase and in others it will decrease. That's about as prescient as saying, "some stocks will go down, and other will go up in the future." Way to go.

(Not a) Surprise: Who is the Real Patriot?
In 1961, a young African-American man, after hearing President John F. Kennedy's challenge to, "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country," gave up his student deferment, left college in Virginia and voluntarily joined the Marines.
In 1963, this man, having completed his two years of service in the Marines, volunteered again to become a Navy corpsman. (They provide medical assistance to the Marines as well as to Navy personnel.)

Analyst Predicts Corn Rationing in 2008
Corn is used in a lot of stuff, corn oil, feed for livestock, crap in your soda, etc. This is gonna cause problems all up and down the supply chain.
YORK — A BB&T Capital Markets analyst said Monday corn rationing may be necessary this year, following a U.S. Department of Agriculture report predicting farmers would plant far fewer acres of corn in 2008.
According to the March Prospective Plantings Report, farmers intend to
plant about 86 million acres of corn this year, down 8 percent from
2007, when the amount of corn planted was the highest since World War
II.
The Foreclosure Wars
Back in the 30s when banks were foreclosing on farms and the community came to bid on them, no one would bid more then a a few pennies (or some very low amount), often under threat of violence, and then give the property back to the owner after they won. This was done as an act of defiance to the bank, and this is a civil example, often the bank reps would be run out of town by rioting mobs, only to be escort back to town with a police guard.
Was reading this article today and it made me think of those times:

Obama (or Clinton) and the Socialization of the American Economy
Well, if we end up with Obama or Clinton, there's one thing we won't have to worry about: socialism. The Republicans have given us that.
Whether it be soaring deficits, which have given the *communist*
Chinese a controlling interest in our economy, a ridiculous trade
balance, a debauched currency, inflation, reduced manufacturing
output, the largest new entitlement program since the Great
Depression, the impending nationalization of the banking system, the
further concentration of education in the hands of the federal
government, or trade restrictions on steel and pharmaceuticals, I

nutter's for clinton?!
So nutter's getting national press now
sayin he'd a left the church and he supports clinton.
bah! i dont get how you get so upset about "hate speech"
about slavery and stuff. man, i "hate" slavery. the
usa sucks and then people are all... "hater". it's
retarded. you cares?

Non-Borrowed Reserves Triple in Past 14 Days
The expanding degree of insolvency amongst the US banking system has lead bank reserves to fall from negative $19 billion to negative $61 billion in the past 14 days.

Remember Iraq?
Things are suddenly heating up. It appears that a full-on Shia revolt has started, concentrated heavily in the former British occupied oil port city of Bara, as well as Sadr City in Baghdad. Central government forces have given Shia militias and gangs 72 hours to lay down their weapons or face a major offensive. The prime minister himself is in Basra commanding the action. Moqtada al-Sadr, wildcard commander of the Mahdi Army, has ordered the prime minister out of the city. Hospital sources put the total death toll at 40 and the number of wounded at 200 in the past 24 hours of fighting.
the REAL video of hillary's trip to bosnia
Personally I always get confused between dodging sniper fire and having poems read to me by an 8 yr old. It's like, when are those two things NOT going on in my life, sheesh.

Anonymous Rocks, Rick-Rolls Philly
By now many of you have heard about the phenomenon of Anonymous and its war against Scientology. Recently, an estimated 175 Anons appeared near the Scientology center at 15th and Race in Philadelphia. This is known as an "IRL Raid" (in real life raid). They typically dress in a dark colored suit, wearing a large afro wig and a Guy Fawkes mask. Others were dressed as Lord Xenu. Many wore party hats or clown costumes and carried balloons to celebrate L. Ron Hubbard's birthday.
Are you familiar with a Rick-Roll? Remember the ridiculous Rick Astley song from the 80s?

Fans of Irv Homer
For those of you who grew up listening to talk radio in the Philly area, I'm happy to announce, Irv Homer is now on the internets! If you are not familiar with him, Irv is a former bar owner, scotch drinking, cigar smoking, WWII bomber gunner, libertarian, AM talk radio host that ruled the airwaves on local talk radio before it was taken over by the likes of Rush Limbaugh, who, if I remember correctly, replaced Irv's 3pm to 6pm slot at some point in 1992 and relegated Irv to the backwaters of the AM dial.

time capsule found
while rooting around in my basement for some tools to make an emergency home repair, i found my old officially government recommended terrorist preparedness emergency kit. the one that like a week after september 11, 2001 was the latest buzz from the gvmt that every citizen should have handy in these uncertain times. mine was a duffle bag with the following contents:
