McCain calmly admits to wanting to be a dictator
This might be one of the most spine tingling bits of video I've seen this entire election cycle. He spills the beans on his intentions about about 28 seconds into it.
Its very clear. He's out of his f*#&ing mind and no one seems to care.
"I just want to make a comment about the obvious issue and that is the failure of Congress to act yesterday. Its just not acceptable," said McCain. "This is just a not acceptable situation. I'm not saying this is the perfect answer. If I were dictator, which I always aspire to be, I would write it a little bit differently."
Its as clear as day.
With or without Congressional approval, a financial industry bailout will happen. If the President has to declare a national emergency in order to meet what amounts to a margin call by foreign investors, its
going to happen. Guaranteed.

The Real Reason for the Fail Out
The USA has received global margin call. We either bail out foreign banks or we face a full on collapse of the currency.
"Assests now held in China or London can be sold to US entities on Monday, then sold to the Treasury on Tuesday [...] Hundreds of billions of dollars are going to bail out foreign investors. They know. They demanded it. And the bill has been carefully written to make sure that can happen."
- Rep Brad Sherman (D-CA)

The Treasury to you gentlemen, is closed. Keep your bread. Give us freedom.

The defeat of the Economic Stabilization Act
One of the most interesting aspects of the recent defeat of the Economic Stabilization Act is the fact that grassroots surge of
activists were able to quickly mobilize and make their opposition
known in the strongest terms. With such close proximity to the
upcoming election, most politicians were more than hesitant to ignore the people.
From the mainstream media, to government, to the financial
establishment, a near-hysterical chorus of warnings about impending Armageddon was voiced over the past several days, shouting at us that if we did not give nearly unlimited economic power to an office of the executive branch of government, we would be knocked back to the stone age and everything we know and love will be destroyed. All we have to do is trust them and they will protect us.
When have we heard this before?
This time around, when confronted with a demand of a massive expansion of government, sold through fear, the American public stretched out its hand and shouted, "no!"

"Anonymous" Hacks Sarah Palin's Email Account
WIKILEAKS PRESS RELEASE

JULIAN ASSANGE (Investigative Editor)
The internet activist group 'anonymous', famed for its exposure of unethical behavior by the Scientology cult, has now gone after the Alaskan govenor and republican Vice-Presidential candidate Sarah Palin.
At around midnight last night the group gained access to governor Palin's email account "sarah.gov@yahoo.com" and handed over the contents to the government sunshine site Wikileaks.org.
Governor Palin has come under media criticism in the past week for using pseudo-private email accounts to avoid Alaskan freedom of information laws.
The zip archive made available by Wikileaks contains screen shots of Palin's inbox, two example emails, governor Palin's address box and a couple of family photos. While the emails released so far reveal little, the list of correspondence appears to re-enforce the
criticism that Palin is mixing governmental and personal affairs.

Governor Palin Forced Rape Victims to Pay for 'Rape Kit'
This is disturbing. While Sarah Palin was serving as the Mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, the city charged victims of sexual assault between $300 and $1200 for their own rape kits. A rape kit is a sexual assault forensic evidence kit, used to collect DNA that can be used in criminal proceedings to assist in the conviction of those who commit sex crimes. The kit is performed as soon as possible after a sexual assault has been committed. Imagine enduring a physical attack and then having to pay $1200 just so that the perp might be caught.

ANCHORAGE - Gov. Tony Knowles recently signed legislation protecting victims of sexual assault from being billed for tests to collect evidence of the crime, but one local police chief said the new law
will further burden taxpayers.
The governor signed House Bill 270, sponsored by Rep. Eric Croft,
D-Anchorage, outside the Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) exam room
at Alaska Regional Hospital. In attendance at the signing were members
of victims advocate groups, law enforcement agencies and legislators.

Palin hates America
On the other hand, Kos is all over this Palin/AIP connection ... this is a legitimate story and hopefully this will hit the mainstream soon:
Recapping Palin's Secession Scandal

If you spent yesterday at a Labor Day picnic rather than at the computer, you missed the story that broke here regarding Sarah Palin's 1990s membership in the Alaskan Independence Party (AIP).
Note I said Independence not Independent. It's not just an "independent" party--it is a party whose explicit goal is to have a
vote on Alaskan independence.
So, without further ado, what we know so far (all the information, and
much, much more can be found here, here, here, and here):
* As user Liz Arnett first informed us yesterday morning, the AIP
is a political party in Alaska whose motto is "Alaska First." It's
goal is to have a vote on Alaska's state status so that Alaskans may
decide whether the state should secede, become a territory, become a
commonwealth, or remain a state.
* The AIP has what most Americans would qualify as radical views
on the relationship between the federal government and Alaska,

Russian Forces conteplate 3rd front on Nato Turkey's back door
They should seriously disband the CIA and hire us to make sense of the world. We've been posting stuff about Georgia and the pipeliine for what feels like months. While we're at it, we'll scrap the military as
well. Dommie can raise a rabble of crazed Turk mercenaries. "Domenic of Turkey", they shall call him. All eating hummos on the back of a mule and shit.
Has anyone ever noticed online in various discussion groups you might stumble upon that there are some really nationalistic Turks out there.
I used to run the FTS site on an old platform and it got hacked and filled with pro Turkish nationalistic propaganda because I was reporting on Kurdish issues. WTF?
Anyway, speaking of Turkey, sources out of Isral report this
additional black swan "dropping" for lack of a better term:

The Russo-Georgian War and the Balance of Power
Again, Stratfor totally nails it. Bush has been a complete and absolute disaster for the US military and geopolitical position.
The Russo-Georgian War and the Balance of Power
The Russian invasion of Georgia has not changed the balance of power in Eurasia. It simply announced that the balance of power had already shifted. The United States has been absorbed in its wars in Iraq and
Afghanistan, as well as potential conflict with Iran and a destabilizing situation in Pakistan. It has no strategic ground forces in reserve and is in no position to intervene on the Russian periphery. This, as we have argued, has opened a window of opportunity
for the Russians to reassert their influence in the former Soviet
sphere. Moscow did not have to concern itself with the potential
response of the United States or Europe; hence, the invasion did not
shift the balance of power. The balance of power had already shifted,
and it was up to the Russians when to make this public. They did that

George and Russia: Possible Black Swan
Well, most of my predictions regarding the upcoming presidential election were predicated upon there being no "black swan" events. Recent developments in the Georgia would most likely constitute a black swan event. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out in
the ongoing race.

skip the election?
Anyone nervous that the crisis in our economy will lead Bush to conclude that November would not be a good time for a change of leadership, and so he invokes some kind of emergency rule suspending elections until the crisis is over?
he could perhaps invoke this directive:
National Security and Homeland Security Presidential Directive, NSPD-51/ HSPD 20
In May 2007, a major presidential National Security Directive is issued, (National Security and Homeland Security Presidential Directive NSPD 51/HSPD 20),
NSPD 51 / HSPD 20 is a combined National Security Directive emanating from the White House and Homeland Security. It is tailor-made to fit the premises of both the Pentagon's 2006 "Anti-terrorist Plan" as well
Vice President Cheney's 2005 "Contingency Plan".
The directive establishes procedures for "Continuity of Government" (COG) in the case of a "Catastrophic Emergency". The latter is defined in NSPD 51/HSPD 20 (henceforth referred to as NSPD 51), as "any
incident, regardless of location, that results in extraordinary levels of mass casualties, damage, or disruption severely affecting the U.S. population, infrastructure, environment, economy, or government
